Frequently Asked Questions

It is best to wear comfortable clothing that can be easily taken on and off.  You will be asked to undress down to your underwear and towels will be used so that only the area being worked on will be exposed.  If you feel more comfortable, a pair of sports shorts can be worn.  For female clients, please wear a bra which can be undone from behind so if I need to work on your back it is easier to access whilst you are on the couch.

Yes, a young person under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult. The adult must give permission for the treatment to be performed and co-sign the client’s consultation form.  The accompanying adult must be present in the room throughout treatment.

A massage does not have to be painful.  Depending on your condition and the treatment needed, it can cause some mild discomfort at the site of the problem area.  However, you are in control and I will always communicate with you and can alter the pressure of my technique for your comfort.  If you do not like a particular technique, we can explore alternative methods.

You will be asked to complete a short consultation form. I will also ask some questions to get an idea of your current issues, and what your goals are, in order to inform your treatment.  I will carry out a postural and range of movement assessment and functional tests.  Treatment will be based on the assessment findings and will include general and more advanced massage techniques.  At the end of the session, I will offer you advice for aftercare to keep you on track with your treatment plan.  This may include stretching and strengthening exercises and advice to help you achieve your goals.

Please provide 24 hours notice for appointment cancellations.  If 24 hours notice is not received you will be charged the full amount for the appointment.
